Sophia celebrates her birthday...again.

Sophia, like her mother, enjoys celebrating her birthday for an entire month. So even though her official party is over, Sophia had lots of fun stuff to do.

While Sophia was at school, Gianni picked blueberries and red rasberries for her.

Brooke and Eva spent the night and the girls had a fun sleepover.

Gianni, Sophia, Brooke and Eva get ready to order lunch at Equinox Diner.

Sophia gives Mommy a big hug.

Next we took a walk at Olde Mistick Village and stopped to see the ducks.

After a little break, we headed to Cows and Cones for some birthday ice cream.

Gianni indulges in a chocolate ice cream cone.

Sophia opens her birthday gifts from Brooke and Eva.

Gianni refused to put down his cone, so he merely posed by his birthday gift.

Sophia picks Mommy some flowers.

Gianni hangs out with Brooke.

A bit of frolicking in the field before we head home.

The kids enjoy a fun morning at the park.

Sophia blows out the candle on her birthday ice cream.

Bon Voyage John

We said good-bye to John as he headed out on his next voyage. But, in true Spencer fashion, we made a fun day of it at the beach!

John stays up into the wee hours of the morning to finish packing.

We met up with the Bakers at Eastern Point Beach to watch Daddy sail by...here Sophia chats with Brooke and Bella.

Brooke holds Gianni as he indulges in an afternoon drink.

Sophia waits patiently for the sub to pass with her sign in hand.

Here comes Daddy!

The boat blows her whistle as she passes.

And there they go...off into the wild blue yonder (actually I think that is the Air Force).

Birthdays All around

Happy Birthday Sophia (3) and Gianni (1)! We celebrated by welcoming Daddy home. We also had a wonderful party with so many family and friends to make the day special.

We start by looking at the end of the day first...here is the happy, tired family (so tired in fact, that Gianni couldn't quite keep his eyes open to be in this picture). How did they get this way you ask?

We had lots of party-goers.

They made the kids do tricks...here Gianni is performing for the family.

Sophia and Gianni had lots of gifts to open...with a bit of help from Nana.

And they had to show off their new gifts.

See how many gifts there were!!!

We had to smile for the camera.

And eat our cake.

We had to do this delicately, without making a mess.

Well, we gave it the good ol' college try.

We had to pull the pinata and frantically grab for candy.

We had to run and fall on the slip and slide.

We had to be held and cuddled by people who love us.

We had to sun ourselves and chat with our good friends.

Some of us even had to fall asleep.

We had to pose for pictures.

And more pictures.

We had to swing, slide, and just generally be merry.

We had to get doted on by our Grammie and Nonni.

And Mimi, Nana, and Daddy!

We had to do all of this while singing and laughing.
Wouldn't you be tired too???!!!
Thank you to everyone for making our birthday party so much fun!
Love,
Sophia and Gianni

Sophia and Daddy's big day!

Since Sophia is just about to be a big 3 year old now, Daddy decided it was time for her to see her first movie...Up!

Daddy and Sophia prepare for the big trip.

She enjoys her popcorn as much as the movie.
Yes, this is a short post, but we felt this special day needed its own entry

Mystic and Brockton and Lee, Oh my!

In June, Sophia and Gianni got to visit friends and family. They received some visits as well. They loved every minute of it!

Mimi and Sophia enjoy a concert at the Mystic River Park.

Gianni enjoyed his snacks more than the music.

Sophia and Addie dance to the music.

Sophia wades in the water at Bluff Point.

Gianni just digs in the dirt.

And now it is time for both kids to get dirty.

Papa joins Sophia and Gianni for breakfast.

The kids help Papa blow out his birthday candles.

Gianni tries on his new hat and sun glasses.

The Spencers traveled to Lee to celebrate Ben and Owen's birthdays.

What's a birthday without a few hundred bubbles?

We also got to see the Armstrongs while in the Berkshires.

The kids play with Macie.

And keep playing!
