Sophia's 5th Birthday!

Our little girl turned five this year.  Like her Mommy, Sophia enjoys celebrating her birthday throughout the entire month!

Sophia opens presents from the Spencer clan in Ohio.

Gianni, the consummate gentleman, helps his sister open presents.

Sophia receives a sleeping mask from Mimi.

Here, Sophia practices with her new skates, curtesy of Nana and Papa.

Watch out, that first step is a doozy!

Sophia takes a break from her work out.

What time is it?  Its time for lunch!  (for all of you Bubble Guppies fans)

Sophia takes a picture of Daddy and Gianni.

Engine 501 returns to the station.

I am pretty sure Gianni just put himself in timeout.

Time to visit all of the animals at the Virginia Zoo.

Mommy and Sophia pose in front of the garden.

We learned that these are apes, not monkeys, because they have no tails.

We have not yet identified this species.

Sophia and Mommy watch the orangatans cuddle.

The red panda looks more like a racoon.

The otters jump out of the water for this picture.

Daddy and Mommy share a romantic train ride around the zoo (yeah, right).

The Spencers make a trip to the outer banks (see map above) to visit the Ames Family already on vacation.

We have dinner at the beach house.

Jeremiah shows Ben how to cast off.

Wow, look at the size of that fish...he's not getting away!

Hello fishy.  I am going to hug you and squeeze you and call you my own...or bread you and fry you up!

Sophia also tries her hand at fishing.

And look what she catches.

Its cuddle time on the couch.

Now is time for Sophia's official birthday party at Young Chefs Academy.

Sophia and T'Niyah wait patiently for their instructions.

Sophia mixes the ingredients for her pizza dough.

The kids are very excited to begin.

Logan wants to know why he can't eat raw dough.

The crew of budding chefs.

Sophia learns how to knead the dough with the heel of her hand.

Gianni dreams of cheese pizza.

Aaron and T'Niyah try out their new found skills.

Sophia is happy with the results.

Seth, an expert chef himself, offers Arron and Trey some advice.

Can we eat it yet?  Not quite yet.

Miss Leslie made Sophia her own marker box.

Sophia enjoys opening her presents while Gianni acts as guard.

Finally, we get a picture of a cake that has not been cut yet.

Even Scooby Doo showed up for the party.

The adults wait to see if they are going to get pizza too!

Now it is time to feast.

Everyone is proud of their finished products.

Trey smiles, but only briefly.  He has the important business of eating pizza and cake.

Aaron is pleased with his work.

Gianni waits for the applause before beginning.

Connor and Levi waste no time in digging in.

Carter's mouth is too full to smile for the camera.

Emme also has to wait before she can smile.  She definitely has her priorities.

Logan cannot decide if he should start with pizza or cake.  I agree it is a tough decision.

Gianni decided to do both simultaneously.

Happy Birthday Sophia!
